We’d tried traditional dog training before but wanted something more personal and customized. Devotion’s “Train the Humans” approach taught us how to work with our dogs to get sustained results. Devotion planned our training sessions around specific issues our dogs were having, such as barking, front door escapes, and meet and greet anxiety. She worked with us in our home, on neighborhood walks, at the dog park, and in busy town centers. Whenever possible, she included our whole family.
Devotion is extremely easy to work with in person and by phone or e-mail. She is flexible and understanding when schedules change. Most importantly, Devotion has a real gift for dog training. She is a keen observer and understands why dogs exhibit certain behaviors. Our dogs love her!
Devotion’s approach requires the humans to train and practice with their canine companions. You will be expected to spend a significant amount of time with your dog each day until you all learn the lessons. For us, it has been well worth it.

I highly recommend Devotion for dog/human training! In only 3 short meetings she gave me the tools I needed to help correct some behavioral issues with my new rescue dog. She was encouraging and calm, She easily demonstrated instructions to encourage wanted behavior and avoid unwanted behavior. Her lessons were always positive and reward-filled so my dog quickly learned to trust her. Her pricing is very reasonable and she is very considerate of only giving you the time you need so you don’t pay for extra time that may not be needed. Afterwards she created a custom training plan tailored to our specific requests. All the training sessions were in our home/neighborhood. Devotion was also very flexible with regards to scheduling our training sessions. The best part was she took our lifestyle and busy schedule into account when she created the training exercises. Our dog loves her and goes nuts when she arrives to train and play. At the end of each session she is happy and tired every time.
We started with an intelligent, beautiful but tightly strung Belgian Malinois dog we rescued from a pound about four years ago. We wanted help with controlled walks, reducing barking, having her return to us off leash, and responding to doorbells.
We trained an hour per session, two sessions per week for a month. The difference is amazing! While we are still a work in progress, we have made super progress in every area. She is much happier and a much better behaved dog thanks to Devotion’s consistent work with us.
Devotion emphasizes that dog training is active and fun, and it requires all of us (Our dog, my wife and me) to be good at our roles.
We plan to train at least another month with Devotion after we take a month off to work on our current development plan.
